My name’s Jim, and I began writing about music in the Milwaukee Journal-Sentinel’s teen section JUMP in 1994, at the age of fifteen. When I entered college three years later, I wrote at the UWM Post and eventually helped start The Leader with a few former Post staff members. After moving to Illinois in 2007, I became co-host of Liner Notes – a weekly music discussion program for WRRG Radio (River Grove) – as well as a contributor to Prefix and Sock Monkey Sound. Through all of these outlets, I’ve had the humble pleasure of interviewing folks like Conan O’Brien, Wilco, Mike Watt, the Dismemberment Plan, Bob Mould, Hum, the Descendents, Moby and others.
